Same here, didn't know for years that I could have chickens in my back yard. Or, that there was a Back Yard Chicken Forum that could help me get started. When I found out, I was finally having part of my childhood memories brought back. I loved them because of my grandma, now I'm the grandma. :) .WELCOME!!
