We are a small organic farm near the capitol of Montpelier. We have spent the past year in transition from maintaining a small flock of layers and a yearly flock of broilers to starting a poultry processing business! Since there were none in Central Vermont we felt it might be of use to the other small farms who need to process small quantities of birds.
We are also raising several hundred birds here. Over the past 6 years we have mostly used Clearview Farm in PA for our starter chicks but are hoping to find a more local source. I would be interested in finding someone in Central VT who would be able to hatch up to 100/week. We have been raising Kosher Kings but are leaning toward switching to Cornish cross.
This is my first post and I will now spend some time reading other local VT posts to see who my "neighbors" might be!
