Hello everyone. My name is Teresa Just got my ladies 9 weeks ago. And I am hooked. I have 8 ladies well a possible boy :/. I have read so many articles on how you find which sex I am throughly confused now. Am in the beautiful foothills of CA in a town called Copperopolis. We built them a home 4x8 inside a 10x16 kennel. We let them out everyday which brings me to my first question. When you say free range does it have to be all day or could it be just 3 to 4 hrs? I would love to post a picture but I do not know how so that is my second question. I have found this webpage to be informational on any of my concerns and general questions. I commend the maker of this forum webpage.

Thank you in advance for any information you can provide

    Teresa and the ladies

Hi Teresa and [IMG] - glad that you have joined us. To answer your questions...

    1. Free ranging does not have to be all day. Many members only allow their chickens out of the run when they are at home, to supervise / be present to deter predators.

    2. To post a picture, start a thread, type whatever you like and then look for the icon that looks like a mountain and a sun - just to the right of the "justify text" icon and click on it. A small window will open, asking you to attach a file. Simply drag the file to where it says "embed file" . The press "submit" (once its loaded). Not sure how to do it on a phone, but on a pc thats how to do it.

I'd suggest posting pics of your chickens on the "What breed or gender is this?" forum.

    Good luck
