Hello everyone. I recently was told about this site and how helpful it has been for other hen owners that I know. Now that I have recently graduated from a high school down here in SoCal I now have time to ketch up with my life, I thought it would be fun to join this site. I currently live in Ramona California with my Mom, my brother and 6 laying hens. I started out with 6 laying hens who are all 1/2 Black Star and 1/2 Rhode Island Red. I got them from a local breeder for my Senior Ag project. (Before this I had no pets at all, not even pet,pets like cats or dogs.) I had got an egg business started at school with my laying hens. One would be surprised at how many eggs 6 laying hens could lay in a week, even a few days. I plan on leaving that business there at school but continuing to sell eggs around my community and hopefully expanding my heard as well.
