Hi

from a family of pet lovers, but never before bird owners. We currently have 3 rescued cats, a dutch mix rabbit, and teddy bear hamster and pond full of Koi and Shubunkin. We are almost done building an outdoor aviary to house quail. We have wild Valley quail running through our yard and my girls (11 and 13) decided it would be fun to keep some quail of our own so we can have the eggs, and the fun of hatching etc. Looking to get some Coturnix and maybe some valley's in the future.

I have 2 ponds of goldfish and shubunkin! I thought about koi but our larger pond is only 1,000 gallons and we'd need a bigger one to have more than two. My fish however are several years old super friendly--even eat out of my hands like koi do.
