Hi ..my name is Karen and I have a hen named Henrietta. From looking at your breed chart she seems to be a Leghorn chicken.
She was hatched in a children's classroom and brought home to be a pet of my neighbor's son. When she started to grow a large comb and wattle the neighbor was convinced she was a rooster and had made plans to make a chicken dinner out of her. Lucky for her she laid and egg a week or so later & became my pet.
She is very friendly and I sware can talk to me. She follows me around and loves to eat blueberries from my hand. Ever since I have brought this chicken into my home I have been unable to eat chicken and have now refrained from eating any meat at all. Call it a mid life crisis but the chicken has changed my life.
I joined this site as I was recomended by a friend. My hen was laying eggs and doing just fine till my mom sent me a fancy new coop for my birthday to give Henrietta more space. Since she has stopped laying eggs & crows like a rooster every morning for 2 hours. It was a little funny at first but Id rather not have any complaints from the neighbors being that we are all pretty close around here. I have already recieved some really good advice from this community and look forward to learning more from this site.
Hopefully I can figure out a good breed to match her with or possibly find one of the same breed.
Looking forward to learning more
