we have these mean eivl blood thirsty black gnate bugs WOW !!!!! do they ever bite .these things took out.my flock of 2mo old chicks. Any ideas what to use for repellent????

I understand that keeping a small fan running in the chicken coop helps with gnats and blackflies.

you may want to hang some yellow sticky fly strips in the area, gnats seem attracted to that color. Just be sure the strips are out of reach of your chicks because they would get stuck to them. If that should happen you can gain their release by wiping around them with vegetable oil.
