Hello forum! My name is Dave, and I am from Exeter, CA. It is a small town right in the middle of CA, near the Sierra foothills. We recently moved out of the city onto 4 acres, and have been building our farm/zoo for a few months now. We bought a few chicks over my daughters spring break, and now have a weird variety of chickens. We have 1 black frizzle cochin bantam rooster, 1 white laced cochin bantam rooster, 2 buff brahma hens, a pair of silver sebrights, and some little unidentified bantam we call chicken little.

We just picked up a few birds a couple weeks ago to keep as free range, They are standard sized blue laced red wyandottes and white laced cochins. I am posting pics of them, as they were all out playing in the water and easy to get pics of. I will post more pics of the cooped birds when I am able to get some.

Thanks for the warm welcome. My next step in the "obsession" is to narrow the scope of our operation! I already know that I really like the silver laced cochin bantam, but need a few hens, and I REALLY DO NOT LIKE the black frizzle cochin. He has been my least favorite from the time he was a day old. He started out shy, always freezing when we would get near the brooder. He wouldn't move when we took the chicks out for walks either. Now, he is the dominant rooster and chases my favorite around.
