My husband LOVES chickens. He brought home a hen when we first got married (nearly 14 years ago). He named her Henrietta. We went on a 3 day trip and had our cousin care for her. When we got back home we were laughing because he said, "She's not a chicken, she's a PET!" Apparently he sat on the picnic table to watch her eat and she ran over and jumped on his lap and stayed there wanting to be petted. Henrietta passed and we haven't had hens until now. Yesterday we brought home 3 black and 3 blonde/ish brown pullets. When we got Henrietta she was already laying eggs. So pullets are new to us. They are sooooo... messy, always hungry, and quite comedic little girls. I practically begged him NOT to get any chickens but that's where his heart was. After bringing them home I'm the one doing all the cleaning up but darn... I think I'm in love with them!

It is hard NOT to fall in love with chickens. They really know how to get into your heart and soul.

Enjoy your new flock and welcome to ours!
