Hi everyone!
I'm Stacey and I live in Highlands County, Florida. Anyone else from central Florida here?
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to chickens! I have all my supplies ordered and my chicks arrive the week of May 4th. Can't wait!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I ordered 6 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have two Jersey Giants, two cream legbars, and two whiting true blues being hatched in the future
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I am mostly excited to have these as pets, eggs are a bonus!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am currently doing online courses for my Bachelors, so unfortunately I don't have much time for hobbies. Before I was in school I loved to make homemade soap from scratch. I also enjoy cooking and taking care of my pets.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have cats, dogs, freshwater fish and saltwater fish.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have been searching for many things online about chicken care, and every time I hit the search bar google shows me that someone else has posted something similar on this site.
