Hello from central iowa!

Hello and good day to everyone at BYC. I have been getting lots of information about raising my first flock here and thought it was time to join the ranks. I currently have one barred rock rooster (Ringo Starr) newly introduced to the flock, 4 RIR hens, and 3 silkie hens. I look forward to exchanging advice!

The first day they stayed away kind of, they all figured out the new "pecking order" now they follow him around everywhere haha I hippie he protects them.. I lost a RIR to a predator two weeks ago

I hope to hatch some of the eggs from the RIR BR cross, I looked at pictures online and they are pretty. My hens haven't started laying though yet, I think I got them in march
