Hi, I have this book that has some fun info in it about how/why chickens communicate:

I can't vouch that it's 100% accurate, but thought it was interesting to read the author's spin on things.

True! My chickens all used to respond to ‘here chicky chicky,’ and one also responded to me calling her name!

lol - and my chickens even understand “quack quack” duck language!

I open the run door and the coop door every morning. They free range in my fenced yard all day long!
