Hello, I'm Terri from Redmond, Oregon. We are first time chicken owners and have 6 girls. Two are Sexlinks, two Buff Orphingtons and two are Americanas. They were all hatched in March 2015 and we got them in May. So excited, we got A DOZEN eggs today for the first time

. Our Black Sexlink was the only one upset that we took them, so I think they were hers!

Congratulations on your 1st flock!

Chickens only lay 1 egg about every 25 hours or so; that means if you found 12 eggs from 6 chickens, some of those came from yesterday. (Or maybe someone is playing tricks?)

She'd be the "wonder of the world," if she laid dozen eggs in one day, probably gone the next. Chickens just cannot put out massive amounts like that in a short time. Others have to be pitching in. Maybe she was stealing eggs to sit on and hatch. THAT would make her angry if you took them.
