Hello from Central Texas

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

So glad you decided to join us. Adorable chick! ❤ I did a quick search, it appears that Murray McMurray, Hilltop Farms and Sugar Feather Farms carries Whiting True Blue hatching eggs. You probably will have to wait until spring for eggs though. Check Ebay too, even Craigslist. Good luck!

Thanks for the welcomes. I’ve been enjoying raising these marans chicks. The eggs they came from were probably the darkest shells I’ve ever seen. The chicks are about 2 weeks old now. Some are developing prominent combs with distinct points.
I was really hoping to incubate another clutch of eggs in the incubator as soon as the marans hatched. I figured I wouldn’t have a problem finding hatching eggs, but it’s not been easy. I’m guessing it’s not the right time of year for fertile eggs?
When hatcheries and breeders don't have what I want, I turn to eBay. I've gone to eBay three times over the years for hatching eggs to get new colors and genes of our silkies. Hatch rate diminishes and they're more expensive due to shipping, but we only have one breeder within driving distance here.
