Just wanted to introduce ourselves. Last year we started our chicken adventure with 6 Standard Brahma chicks. We ordered all girls but quickly questioned one we named Chickzilla. Thankfully by the time we were sure we had a rooster, we also had a friend who needed one! My daughter loved all of them and soon sweet talked me into letting her get them some friends. 6 more chicks came home from the local feed store and now we have 9(one didn't make it two days), 12-13 month old girls laying an average of 6 eggs a day. The newer ones are Easter Eggers and I love the mix of colors we get from dark brown to light green and a few pinks. They are fabulous. I will have laying hens as long as I can. We have been married 21 yrs and have 15 yr old girl(human) and 18 yr old boy(human).Thank you BYC for all the helpful advice. The adventure continues......
