Just joined the boards today. I've been lurking and thinking about getting some chicks for a while now. I finally took the plunge today! Me, the hubby, and 3 of my kids climbed into the car and went to Tractor Supply and bought us some chickees!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am very new to chickens, thank God for this website, it has answered any question I could think of. We got our first babies today.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We each got 2 chicks so we have a total of 10
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have no idea what breeds they are. I believe I have 1 Cornish, a couple of reds, and who knows what else.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I did a search on the internet for chickens and found your website, I LOVE IT!!!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Me hobbies, LOL, I have too many. I'm an avid scrapbooker (already took pictures of the kids with their babies and we've only been home 10 minutes, lol), I'm starting to quilt (have my first class in April, I'm very excited), I like to sleep. I love to read and whatever else comes to mind, I pretty much do it!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I've been married to my hubby Mike for 12 yrs. We have 3 kids together, Brandon 13 (teenagers YUCK!), Madison 11 (premenstrual even worse than teenagers, lol), and Parker 8 (so far so good with him, lol). I have a 20 yr old Kate and a 17 yr old Bryan from my first marriage as well. We have a 1 yr old black lab named Sara (crazy dog). I'm a student right now (well starting in August again) I'm going to be a nurse, very nervous about starting nursing school. We love to camp and hang out outside during the nice weather, which lately there hasn't been any!
I hope to learn lots and lots from the website and you seasoned chicken professionals!
