Hello from Colorado

My husband and I are in process of buying our first home and want to be very self sufficient so we want to raise our own garden and herd that chickens were a good source of natural composting and bug control, ect.. but don't know if we can have them in Brighton, Colorado does anyone in Brighton Colorado know the ins and outs of rules here?
