Hello from Connecticut!

I want to do this as a hobby as well but with money dwindling down, I need a little sort of income to come out of this so I need tips and ideas for what to do. Lol.

From what I can tell on here, you need to have quite a few birds to make any money. From selling eggs to selling hatching eggs, I would think you need a small flock. If you have alot of land, (I wish I did), go for it. I wish you luck in your chicken adventures. If you ever need any roos (silkie) let me know, If I am close enough to you, they are free.

Thank you very much Chickie Mamma, I will keep your offer in mind. But I couldnt just incubate eggs and sell them? Probably too costly unless you have your own flock huh?

Well, you can sell the fertile eggs the hens lay, or the actual hatched chicks. Either one sells good, but I think its easier to sell the fertile eggs (packaged well of course). If you sell the chicks locally, its easier than sending them in the mail. There are heat problems etc. You can use heat packs to ship baby chicks, but there are risks. There are risks selling the fertile eggs too. The Post Office tends to mistreat the boxes even though they are labeled "fragile". Who knows what happens? My last 2 batches of shipped eggs resulted in many broken air cells etc. Try both and see what works better for you.

In order to sell fertile eggs don't I have a chicken coop in my backyard with hens laying eggs? I dont necessarily want to deal with all that but if thats what you recommend I will keep it in mind.

Yeah, you would need a few hens and a rooster and a coop and outside (safe) area for them. I would get or build a coop regardless, when you hatch, there will be that little peep you can't get rid of. You will fall in love
