Hello - I am new here.
Well... sort of.
I've been reading for several months and soaking in all the knowledge on these message boards. But I figure it was about time that I make an introduction.
My children are involved in 4-H and this is how I have become involved in chickens. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd fall head over heals for them. Who knew they had such personality?
Anyways - we have been chickenless for about a year now and we're about to get 10 Rhode Island Reds that are 5 days old on Sunday and we are getting day old Bantams next week.
Any adivce or tips you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I am really new to this and incredibly nervous that I'm doing everything the wrong way.
I'm half way through building my temporary brooder (from a huge rubbermaid bucket). I'm anxiously waiting the arrival of our new fuzzy buddies!
