Hello there everyone,
I'm Dani (aka country-darlin), I'm a single mom of 2 from Pennsylvania. Like many others I have acquired my own flock of backyard chickens. I've started in July 2018 and since then have successfully raised a few chickens for meat and eggs/pets. When I started my flock I had also experimented with raising ducks as well (ended up losing one and rehomed the rest). As of right now, I have 6 hens and a rooster all of different breeds. My rooster is a French wheaton marans. My girls are as follows: Rhoade Island Red (Chocobo), Gold laced Wyandotte (Poly), Australorp (Marley), brown leg horn (Chipper), Buff orpington (Buffy), and black sex-link (Frick). I have learned about BYC from a friend and fellow chick mum. After getting my flock, I've come to the BYC website countless times for information and only just now found the app on my tablet and joined this wonderful community.
