(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes. New chicken owner this year 2022. They are now 11 weeks old.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 7 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
2- Novogens, 1 each; Black Australorp, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Grey Jersey Giant, French Black Marans, Color Pac
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Eggs! But also a new hobby to go along with gardening.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, photography, cooking, kayaking, reading
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
*Married 26 years
*2 children (now 23 and 19 years)
*Prior to kids worked in up coming tech field (some of it now is way over my head)
*After kids homeschooled for 15+ years and tutored other kids
*Retired homeschooling mom now raising chickens
*We also have a dog
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I learned about BYC from many other social sites with chicken groups.
