Welcome here. I'm glad you're back , found a nice rooster. We are retired also and love that we no longer live in a big city. I so enjoy my hens so much so I decided to increase flock by 2 more which turned into 7 chicks! Oh oh. Well hubby was on board fearing shortages so we built on to coop. Have fun with your flock.Hello...I have raised chickens for nearly 40 years, but have always just bought day old chicks. This forum is by far the most informative I've seen, and I have questions from time to time. I had registered a few years back but couldn't get it to work, so I re-registered and here I am again. I have about 15 barred rocks & R.I. Reds with an Egyptian Fayomis. rooster (first of this breed). This is the best rooster I have ever owned as he is not aggressive to me at all. Had a few you just about had to carry a firearm to go near. We live very rural & are self sufficient. Hope to learn something here.
