Glad to meet you. Best wishes with your flock and all your plans! I am impressed with Egyptian Fayoumis as a breed. They seem to be the hardiest and most disease resistant, along with the Naked Necks. Plus, they are beautiful! Congrats on what sounds like a great rooster!

Hello...I have raised chickens for nearly 40 years, but have always just bought day old chicks. This forum is by far the most informative I've seen, and I have questions from time to time. I had registered a few years back but couldn't get it to work, so I re-registered and here I am again. I have about 15 barred rocks & R.I. Reds with an Egyptian Fayomis. rooster (first of this breed). This is the best rooster I have ever owned as he is not aggressive to me at all. Had a few you just about had to carry a firearm to go near . We live very rural & are self sufficient. Hope to learn something here.

Welcome here. I'm glad you're back , found a nice rooster. We are retired also and love that we no longer live in a big city. I so enjoy my hens so much so I decided to increase flock by 2 more which turned into 7 chicks! Oh oh. Well hubby was on board fearing shortages so we built on to coop. Have fun with your flock.
