Hi, another newbie from Edinburgh here. I've got 5 chooks happily living in our backyard in Gilmerton.
One blackrock, one light sussex, one bluebell, one speckledy and one ISA brown. Getting 3-5 eggs a day right now.
We've just had our first daughter and thought that a mix of different hens would be interesting for her. We've been loving the abnormally good weather recently and my daughter is fascinated by the hens.
My grandparents lived in the country and I have fond memories of being sent out to find the eggs from their >30 hens as a child (competing with my 2 siblings and 12 cousins). It's was brilliant to be told to go find your breakfast
