Just a quick hello from me. I have a relatively small flock of 8 girls. All of which are rescue hens from battery farms. They are the hybrid girls and I really don't know their breed. They are all full of personality and I adore them. They are also a bit scraggy and have feathers missing but they soon grow back. I am not allowed a male due to living in a built up area and the noise so no breeding in my back yard which is a shame. Thank you for having me .

Hi Jessica and welcome to BYC. Don't worry about not having a rooster, since your girls are not likely to go broody. No reason not to get a couple of hens of a breed that is known to be broody and then buy fertile eggs for them to hatch!
