Hiya all! This is my first foray into chickens. I'm curious about how much I should budget to start up my chicken ranch. I'm hoping for an output of about 20 eggs/week. does anyone have any idea how many hens and what the startup cost would be if I build my own coop?

Costs can be little or a lot depending on what you build your coop with and where you get (and what kind) your birds from.

Better check this site out and do some heavy research!

Estimate one egg per day per hen. three hens would do. that is a small coop and run. check out the thread on using pallets for a coop. do a search and see what you find. I think your expense would be in a secure run.
