Hello from Evansville, IN

My wife and I live in Evansville, have two great girls (7-10) and we have been talking for months about getting laying chickens and researching the subject. My wife has a full Pintrest page on the whole subject. Well, we took the plunge and went last night to get our chicks, we only started out with 6 since that is all we are allowed to have in the city. A co-worker is giving us a pretty nice coop that we will just need to paint to suit our needs. The kids are really excited, my smallest wanted to hold a chick this morning before school but I told her that she had not gotten ready for school and I have never seen her get dressed, brush hair and teeth so fast in her entire life. Looking forward to learning and thanks in advance for the welcome.
