Hello BYC community. After using this website as a valuable reference guide for many years, I've finally decided to become a member, so that I may ask my own questions and submit my own input. I have had chickens for almost five years and currently have 41 chickens, although some roosters will be due for the pot soon... I have a collection of breeds, including red sex-links, (which I am currently getting rid of) Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons, Easter Eggers, and most recently, Dominiques and a few mixes. In addition to raising my layers, I also enjoy breeding my birds, especially when crossing two very different birds such as BO's and EE's, raising meat birds, gardening, and reading. In addition to my 'lovely cluckers' I also have 2 cats and 3 dogs. I hope that my membership will lead to plenty of good advice and sound reasoning, and can't wait to start a new thread!
