Hi everyone!

I just completed my coop and bought my first four chickens. I got them from a local reputable breeder so hopefully I don't have any complications right away. They are supposed be ready to start laying. I got a RIR, an Ameracauna, a Black Sex Link and a Red Sex Link. I am looking for one or two Pekins also.
Since I'm trying to get them to start in winter I put a 60W CFL on a timer to get them 14 hours of light.

Nice to meet everyone

So glad you could join our community!!

After chickens have been moved, sometimes it can take a few weeks before they start laying. The stress of the move can upset the laying cycle. So keep the stress down around the coop, give them time to adjust, keep fake eggs in the boxes so they know where you want them to lay and spend some time with them to help them relax in their new home!

Enjoy your new flock and welcome to ours!
