(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I've wanted for chickens for ten years and they're finally mine!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

Nine and expecting to cull a few. Target number is six.

(3) What breeds do you have?

Three colors of orpingtons and some buff brahmas.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

I love watching animals do their thing. I love even more when said animals can contribute to the running of a home!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Art, fish keeping, herptoculture, bone collecting, stained glass, gardening, etc.

(6) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?

I've known about BYC basically forever; found in a google search once upon a time. Finally wanted to be able to ask questions directly instead of just searching for answers alone.
