Hello, my name is Wilbur. Happy to join this site! I have had backyard chickens since the spring of 2020, when Covid hit and I thought having chickens would be a great way to have a source of eggs in case of supply disruption, and something for the kids to enhance their experiences while school was not meeting in-person.

Beyond collecting eggs and getting automatic dispersal of fertilizer in the yard, I have made a lot of family memories on the chicken journey. The chickens have made it to Sunday school story time (some kids have never seen a real chicken), pictured on Valentine's card exchanges, and even made colored footprints along with my kid's handprints for a Mother's Day keepsake.

Looking forward to sharing my experiences and learning from others!
