(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I recently moved to our family farm and my daughter brought home baby chicks a few days ago! These are my first.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 6

(3) What breeds do you have? Not sure! Three yellow, three black. They came from Tractor Supply and it was a little chaotic.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? First timer so I’ll have to get back to you on that.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I enjoy animal rescue. I currently have four dogs, five cats, two horses, a duck, and now six chicks. I catch stray animals, have them fixed, and either keep them or try to rehome them to loving families.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I was born and raised in Charlotte North Carolina but moved to a small town in Georgia this past September. I have a daughter headed to college, and a loving husband of 20 years and counting. And lots of animals!!

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D I was googling articles about raising baby chicks to learn and came across some posts that were intriguing and here I am!!

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR SOMEONE THAT HAS NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH CHICKS!?!

:welcome:frow just keep them warm and feed chick starter .I like purina medicated .But any brand will do .very shallow water .The kind TSC has work great .If You didn't get the chick thermometer from TSC that has the temp reduction as they grow .You should makes it easier . They will be big before you know it so get a good coop ready .make it predator proof .There are so many predators both wild and domestic. 1/2 inch wire cloth makes the best ones .Good luck.
