Hello, I'm a newbie chicken owner of sorts, I had several White Leghorns years ago and have always wanted to have more chickens: I had to give them up when I moved. Just about got all my materials for my coop. I'm making a chicken tractor type coop and was reading where someone suggested using hardware type wire instead of chicken wire due to racoons. I know we have those as well as coyote in the area. I want 4 RIR hens for eggs and to help with insects in the yard as well as compost but mostly for the fun of just having chickens again. I am looking for any advice that anyone may have. I enjoy this site and looking forward to joining in and enjoying the great company with everyone!!
