Greetings,
I'm Nate from Gulf Breeze, Florida--home of the world's most beautiful beaches. Our chickens first started laying in early July. I'm getting about half a dozen eggs per day from eight hens. I've got two Rhode Island Reds, two Sex-Linked, and four Barred Rocks. All of them are skittish, but will jump up in my lap if I'm treating them to dried meal worms or cracked corn. Six of them are doing that weird squat-down-freeze-take-me-now-or-lose-me-forever stance...these are the ones that are laying eggs now. It's pretty funny. I'll grab their tails and wiggle them vigorously, then they'll stand up and indignantly ruffle and shake their feathers as if to say, "well, I never!" kind of like that widow hen in the Foghorn Leghorn cartoons. "And you never will" says Foghorn.

I'll post some pictures of my walk-in chicken coop for those who are interested in building their own quality coop. I can also email anyone the TurboCAD 3D file that I created before actually putting saw to wood. Just PM me.

Bock bock BUHKAK!
