Hello from high desert of California

Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking here for months now and thought I should join and introduce myself.

I attempted raising chickens on two previous occasions many years ago. Both times I got 2 tiny chicks which I raised for about six months...until they started crowing!

Since I lived in the city, I had to get rid of them fast!

Now I live in a more rural area and am raising chickens again. This time I got 3 tiny Barred Rock chicks and they turned out to be female! I got them in March and they started laying in August! In August I got another 3 chicks about 6 - 7 weeks old. These chickens are Delaware and have not started laying yet. I have the older and younger chickens separated because the older girls don't play nice! HAHA I'm really enjoying this forum and I've been learning lots of things about chicken raising here!
