Well hello to everyone. We're Matthew and Miracle from Houston Tx. We are very new to the whole chicken raising thing but got the idea after attending the Houston Livestock show and said why not? We eat eggs, and our two girls (9 and 7) will learn with us so..... let's give it a go. We are not going to have a big flock just about 6 in our back yard. I have been looking into coop ideas, what type chicks to get and what feed to get and what every else I can find to read so I can do my homework to make sure I can do it right. AND ANY COMMENTS AND WORDS OF ADVISE ARE VERY WELCOME

My advice to you is to read read read! There is a lot of great information on BYC - and the search bar up there on the right is a great tool when you have questions about something specific. Good luck - you will love your backyard chickens!
