Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.

My name is Ken, I'm married, retired, have 3 grown children and a flock of Grand kids.
I had chickens about 20 years ago and need a hobby now so I've decided to try again.
I currently have 42 assorted chickens from 17 breeds including Black Copper Marans, RIR, Barred Rocks, Ameracauna, Sex links, Buff Orpingtons and Wyandottes from 2 weeks to two years old. Only 6 of the 42 are laying now.
I'm not sure how I raised chickens before without the Internet but i didn't realize how much I didn't know. I learned so much from this site, I had to join.
I'm looking forward to learning more and maybe even helping someone else.
