My name is Courtney. My husband & I built our first chicken coop for our Christmas gift to each other. We now have 3 hens & a rooster (red Orpington). Our 6 year old daughter is already in love. When we went to the feed store to purchase them, she walked into their pen & grabbed a big hen - no fear - country girl all the way. I had chickens when I was younger and am looking forward to sharing this with her. She's homeschooled so this will definitely be incorporated into her learning. Also, I'm really excited to have found BYC so I have a place to ask all the questions I will surely have!!!
