Hi everyone, my partner and I moved to Hungary 2 years ago, to live a more simple, debt free, self sufficient early retirement. The retirement part is a bit of a joke as we have never worked so hard!!

We have 7 layers and a cockerel called Elvis (as he is so handsome). We have 5 meat chickens left out of 10 bought from the market about 12 weeks ago, 2 geese ( Gerald and Geraldine) who I love but my partner hates! + adult sheep and 2 lambs born this year. A GSD who adopted us and 2 frogs that have arrived in our pool but won't be there much longer!

We grow as much fruit and veg as possible but this year our fruit is a disaster as we had very cold, very strong winds in May and it blew the new fruit off the trees.

I have often used this website to get information and thought it was about time I joined.

Welcome to BYC!

Sounds like you have a fun little farm! They must keep you busy, but of course livestock can be a labor of love. :-)

Make yourself at home here on BYC and welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC - I think many countries including. USA have experienced very unusual weather this year. I lost several plants from the horrible winter, we didn't really have spring and just went full blast into summer. Now we are having October chill and it's only Sept. Think next year will be strange too.
