Hello from Idaho, New Member

We live in the woods in North Idaho. We have a mixed flock, mostly Americanas, some Speckled Sussex. My daughter has 6 black silkies, and she dearly loves each and every one of them! We have loved having chickens for the past 10 years, and overall they have been very long-lived with very few problems. Our oldest hen is 9 yrs old. They provide us a lot of eggs, and enjoyment in general. We live on a cattle ranch and are working on building our homestead. I have loved browsing this site for all the wisdom that is brought here by everyone, and decided to finally sign up as a member. I'm looking forward to expanding my knowledge about chickens!

They are beautiful and the Sussex are so tame and sweet. This is my first year having that breed and we have been surprised how tame they are! We love them.
