(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I grew up with chickens, but only have a couple years of adult experience with them.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
8
(3) What breeds do you have?
4x buff orpington
2x black sexlink
1x golden sexlink
1x white brahma
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Quality/healthy eggs
Sense of self-sufficiency
Entertainment!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Too numerous to list, but gardening and tinkering are at the top. Looking at getting into quail soon.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Just my wife and I, with our dog, two cats, and eight chickens.
I do building information modeling for a large semiconductor manufacturer.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Probably found it in multiple G-searches initially. Signed up a couple years ago, but haven't taken the time to post until now. Joined because it's just that: an awesome community! =)
