Well, we finally took the plunge. We've been talking about getting chickens for sometime now. We bought a Stor Mor shed last year, and I'm converting the back 1/3rd for the chickens. Last Friday, we went to our local supplier and got 8 Barred Rock chicks, with brooder and accessories. This will give me the focus to make better time on the chicken house!!
Years ago growing up in Massachusetts, we had about 100 chickens, as well as a huge garden. I belonged to the Easton 4-H Organic Garden and Livestock club, and learned a lot about all different kinds of animals as well as gardening. So I have some experience, but that was a long time ago I've appreciated the forum and the Learning Center on this site, as its helped immensely.
