We've been watering in open buckets, heated (electric) ones in the winter, but we had a rooster get frostbite on his wattles from those a couple years back so I'm going to switch to 5-gallon buckets with horizontal nipples, set on warmers next year. As for the feeders, we've gone to 5-gallon buckets with commercial "no-waste" ports, but they actually do waste a lot so I need to make my own using 3" PVC street elbows which have a deeper bend. The ones the feed stores sell are just too shallow. Hope this helps.
