Hello, all.

I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now and have decided that I'd like to join.

I live in North Central Illinois. I have horses and have decided that this year I am going to add about 10 chickens to the farm. I'm hoping to learn a lot from this forum.

Having horses, our local farm store knows me by name and I've got an order in for some pullets in about 28 days. I am leaning towards Sussex - but may end up with something else. It depends on if their first order of pullets is one of my top five picks.

! Great to have you in our community! Sussex are a great breed - docile and friendly! Mixed flocks are good as well - I have lots of different varieties. They get along well if raised as chicks. Good luck to you!
