Have been browsing these forums for while now since my family and I decided to start a flock several months ago.
We have 4 RIR's and have recently added an Easter Egger and Blue Ameraucana to the flock.

I hope to pick up on some helpful tips and information from everyone here.
Glad to be a part of the community!

Nice to meet you Daniel, Welcome to Backyard chickens. Have you explored the Learning Center yet, it is a great place to start. You may also want to post on your state thread - hopefully you will find other chicken folks near you.

Hi Daniel, welcome to BYC!

We have had RIR's and EE's in our mixed flock and they are wonderful birds. You'll have a pretty egg basket when they start laying (maybe they already are?).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask...there are a lot of helpful, friendly members here.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.
Good luck with your flock! I LOVE the bird in your avatar! What a lovely blue Ameraucana hen!

Have you checked out our learning center yet? TONS of helpful info there! https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Glad you joined the community!

Thanks for the the welcome! My RIR's are about 7 months old now and laying 4 eggs daily.
My Blue Ameraucana and Easter Egger are now 13 weeks old. They're currently still going through
the pecking order with the older girls but everything seems to be going fairly smoothly thus far.

Glad to be here!
