Hello from Indiana -first baby chick. No experience . Any help/advice will be appreciated

! Great to have you here! First chick - wow!! Exciting times!
I would recommend a couple things. First, chickens are social creatures and do not do well in isolation. I would encourage you to get at least one more. Secondly, go to a farm and ranch store and get some food called chick starter. Also, a constant supply of fresh water. Thirdly, visit the following threads to get you up to speed on being a capable poultry raiser. Good luck and have fun!

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan

Chickens are very social animals and do better when raised with other chickens. Many of the feed supply stores are starting to carry spring chicks - and your little chick will be happier with another chick or two as buddies.

Kudos for being able to just buy one, its hard to not say just gimme the bin, but I do agree that chicks are happier with a chick buddy. What is that chick? Its gorgeous!

I will definitely look at them and start looking for a little buddy. He seems to love our company , everyone in the house love him (I think it's a him)

Thank you I have no idea what kind it is. A farmer that lives like three hours away far it to me for free but I don't know what it is
