My name is Chad and I live in Central Indiana. I have been a police officer for 12 years and my wife is a school teacher. We have an 18 month old little boy. Next year we will be having our first batch of meat chickens. I plan on doing about 30 chickens.
We got the idea of raising meat chickens because I deer hunt and all of our red meat is venison. We thought it would be a great idea to be able have fresh steroid free chicken meat just like our venison.
Our little boy loves animals and the outside and I want to raise him knowing where his good comes from and also gain a little responsibility as he grows older.
I am sure I will have a million questions along the way. Eventually we will have egg laying chickens also. Thanks
