Hi all! My name is Lindsey and I am in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
A local high school was rehoming their flock this past April due to the schools being closed because of the pandemic, and my husband and I decided to try out chicken ownership. We got four laying hens: 1 leghorn, 2 easter eggers and 1 bantam black cochin. I really enjoyed them, and shortly thereafter ordered four chicks from our local chicken store, and ended up with 2 white rocks and 2 buckeyes. THEN, two of our layers went broody, so I got them some eggs to sit on, and of those eggs I got another 5 silkies and 1 silkie/polish mix. It’s been a quick education in most things chicken (this site is so helpful!).
