Hello everyone,
After many years of quietly sitting on the sidelines and reading the forums I finally decided to join in.
I grew up raising a mixed flock of bantams, so, naturally, I’ve always been partial to them, and now that I’m “grown” and have my own house and family I decided about a year ago to get some chickens.
I currently have:
Another great thing about having chickens is all of the great compost for my garden (I’m an Agronomist and LOVE to garden).
I’m also interested in possibly developing a relationship with local people who would be willing to help me perpetuate the Black Australorp Bantam breed. I received my birds last year from a breeder in Wisconsin, but I would like to be able to both assist people with starting their own flocks as well as be able to pull birds/chicks from their flocks (once established).
Regardless, glad to be here. I’m looking forward to meeting y’all.
