Hello everyone!
My name is Genevia. I'm a homemaker in Jackson, TN. My husband & I have been married for almost 6 years & we have 2 beautiful children (planning on having more). We just ordered our first chicks the other day. We will pick them up on March 23rd. We will have 8 chickens & 2 ducks (I think I may be crazy). Here's a run down of the breeds we are getting... 2 of each kind....Chickens: Barred Plymouth Rock, Rhode Island Red, Buff Orphington, Araucana.... Ducks: Khaki Campbell. I would have only had 2-3 chickens & 1 duck, but there was a minimum order of 10 at our local feed & farm supply store. So, here we go on our backyard chicken adventure. I'm kind of scared b/c we live IN the city, and it's illegal, but moving is not an option for us right now, and buying fresh, organic eggs around here is EXPENSIVE.
So, here's hoping to not winding up with any roosters, and I have some quiet girls.
