Hi everyone,

I've been reading this forum for the past few months and have learned a lot, so thanks!

I just received my first chicks a few days ago and am having a blast with them far. I'll post in the 'Raising Chicks' thread for that though. Just wanted to say hello and thanks for all the valuable info so far!

Kokkekokou (That's what roosters say in Japanese.)

Welcome!

I liked your username when I first saw it and now I know what it means, even cooler! My FIL had a dog named Inu and while I liked the name, it was many years before I was aware it was Japanese for dog.

What breed of chicks did you get and how many?

Anyways, I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you have not checked it out during your research, the Learning Centre has some great tips: https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
